Paula M. Dwyer is a sole practitioner in Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois, concentrating her practice in guardianship, probate estates and estate planning.
Her clients include guardians, estates, alleged disabled persons, administrators, executors, trustees, beneficiaries, relatives, heirs, claimants and other interested parties in general administration and contested litigation concerning estates and trusts. She also represents individuals in their estate and disability planning.
Ms. Dwyer has been a consultant to the Public Guardian of Cook County, providing attorney training and development, complex litigation support and management consulting services to the Public Guardian.
Previously, Ms. Dwyer served as Deputy Public Guardian of Cook County. In that capacity she oversaw all operations of the Public Guardian’s Disabled Persons Division, which provided guardianship and legal services to 400 disabled persons.
She has spoken to various groups on guardianship topics, authored several publications on guardianship related topics and was named a 2005 Illinois Super Lawyer by Chicago Magazine in the area of Elder Law.
Ms. Dwyer received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 1982 and her law degree in 1985 from Creighton University.
